Class Description

Cryptology: Codes & Ciphers and Science Sleuths  Meet the merger of cryptology and exciting science experiments.   We will change messages systematically to confuse anyone who intercepts it! In using codes, we will change the messages by replacing each word with another word that has a different meaning. Our Ciphers, on the other hand, will be used to convert the message by a rule, known only to the sender and recipient! Shhh….   Let’s get messy and create and uncover create some really cool science! Elephant toothpaste, rock candy, geysers, crystals, fossils, DNA extraction, homopolar motor and bath bombs are a few examples of our fun activities.  If you are repeating the course, rest assured we ALWAYS have NEW experiments in addition to some of your favorites!! Mrs. Shipman will be taking requests for the experiments you love.
